INTRODUCTORY COURSE IN GYNAECOLOGICAL CYTOLOGY [C&G Diploma] - (Thinprep®)
A full time four week course which is suitable for trainee Cytoscreeners or BMSs with little or no gynaecological cytology experience.Trainees must be employed in a Cytopathology Laboratory and gained some basic microscopy experience as recomended by City & Guilds guidelines. All participants will be invited to attend a one week Follow-Up course one year later at no extra cost.

A five day course for candidates who have previously attended the C&G's Diploma Introductory Course in Gynaecological Cytology.

PRE - EXAM COURSE FOR SITTING NHSCSP C&G DIPLOMA IN CERVICAL CYTOLOGY - (Thinprep®)
Five day course for candidates preparing to sit the C & G Diploma in Cervical Cytology.

BMS/CYTOSCREENER UPDATE COURSE - (Thinprep®)
This is a three day course for experienced Biomedical Scientists and Cytoscreeners designed to refresh their knowledge and keep up to date with current trends. It meets all NHSCSP mandatory triennial update requirements for biomedical scientists and cytoscreeners.
This course is not suitable for candidates preparing for the Diploma in Cervical Cytology examination.
Please note we can only accept two candidates per lab per course to allow space capacity on each course.

RESPIRATORY TRACT CYTOLOGY COURSE
The respiratory tract two day non-gynae course is designed for qualified BMSs and covers many aspects of the IBMS Advanced Specialist Certificate (General Level) syllabus, including specimen preparation techniques, anatomy, and histology. Normal cellular features, contaminants and artefacts, features of malignancy will be covered both by lectures and practical microscopy sessions.

SEROUS FLUID CYTOLOGY COURSE
The serous fluid two day non-gynae course is designed for qualified BMSs and covers many aspects of the IBMS Advanced Specialist Certificate (General Level) syllabus, including specimen preparation techniques, anatomy, and histology. Normal features including cellular composition of effusions, features associated with reactive change and malignancy will be covered by formal lectures and practical microscopy

URINARY TRACT CYTOLOGY COURSE
The urinary tract two day non-gynae course is designed for qualified BMSs and covers many aspects of the IBMS Advanced Specialist Certificate (General Level) syllabus, including specimen preparation techniques, anatomy, and histology. Recognition of normal cellular constituents, inflammation, atypia and malignancy will be covered by practical microscopy sessions and formal lectures.

CONSULTANT PATHOLOGIST/AP UPDATE COURSE - ( Thinprep®)
A one-day course on gynaecological cytology designed for consultant pathologists and to refresh their knowledge and keep up to date with current trends in the NHSCSP.

CYTOPATHOLOGY FOR PATHOLOGISTS COURSE - Gynae
This 2 day course for consultants and SPR's which covers ONLY gynaecological cytology.
Due to popular demand we have added an optional half day mock exam which will be held on the last day of the course for those waiting to take MRCPath exam.

CYTOLOGY MEDICAL LABORATORY AIDE'S COURSE
This is a new course designed for MLA's as commissioned by our LRCTC User Group. It is a one day introductory course designed to cover topics such as an overview of the NHSCSP, terminology, role of an MLA and audit. The course is structured to make full use of interactive teaching resources.

SAMPLE TAKER FOUNDATION COURSE
This course is designed for nurses / GP's wishing to undertake cervical samples as part of their work. The course comprises of both classroom teaching and pre-course distance learning material. It will be over a day and a half worth of training sessions which are held at the London Regional Cytology Training Centre at Northwick Park Hospital. Lectures will be by both practitioners and cytologists and will include a tour of the cytology laboratory.

SAMPLE TAKER UPDATE COURSE
This half day study day is designed to provide up-to-date information on sample taking and examine future trends in cervical cytology and will be held at the LRCTC at Northwick Park Hospital.
