Director - Dr Tanya Levine Dr Tanya Levine is the Director of the London Regional Cytology Training Centre. As an undergraduate she studied medicine at Oxford University (pre-clinical) and ST Mary's Hospital London, now part of Imperial College (clinical name). Following house-jobs she trained in histopathology at University College Hospital, Northwick Park Hospital and St Mary's Hospital, London. Dr Levine has been a consultant at the Royal Free Hospital, London since 2002, has moved posts to take up a Consultant Histo/cytopathologist position at North West London Hospitals NHS Trust. She holds the following qualifications MA, MBBS, RCDipPath (cyto), MRCPath

Manager - Mr David Smith David Smith has been working in Cytology since 1984 and joined the department in November 1991 to take up the post as Cytology Laboratory and Training School Manager. Prior to moving to Northwick Park Hospital he worked at the Royal Marsden Hospital. David's list of qualifications include BSc(Hons) in Medical Sciences, FIMLS, M.I.A.C and has also passed the BSCC Certificate of Competence and IBMS examination in Interpretive and Diagnostic Cytology.

Deputy Laboratory Manager & Senior Tutor - Mr Mark Terry Mark has been working in Cytology since 1986, and joined the team at Northwick Park Hospital in 2002. Previously Mark was based at St Mary's Hospital, London but has worked in a number of cytology laboratories both in the UK and abroad. Marks qualifications include BSc (Hons) in Cell Biology, FIMLS, & CMIAC. Mark is primarily based in the routine diagnostic department but his co managerial forges a valuable link between the LRCTC and Department of Cellular Pathology.

Deputy Manager - Mr Ian Phillips Ian was appointed as Deputy Manager to the LRCTC in January 2004. Previously, Ian was in charge of the Cytopathology Department at Wexham Park Hospital, after being Chief Biomedical Scientist in the Cytopathology Department at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School - Hammersmith Hospital for over 20 years. Ian has helped to run the Higher National Certificate evening classes in cellular pathology at Paddington College, has lectured for many other courses including the MSc in cellular pathology at the University of Westminster, and has helped in establishing one of the first part-time MSc Cytopathology courses at Imperial College, Hammersmith campus. . Ian has a special interest in non-gynaecological cytology, especially technical aspects including immunocytochemistry. Ian's qualifications are MSc, CMIAC, FIBMS, FIScT MInstLM and DIC

Consultant - Dr Gillian Williams Dr. Gill Williams is a lecturer in the London Regional Cytology Training School and Consultant Histo/Cytopathologist at Northwick Park Hospital. She qualified from Guy's Hospital Medical School in 1987 and trained in Cellular Pathology at Southampton General Hospital and Guy's and St.Thomas Hospital, with an intervening period of research based within the Imperial Cancer Research Fund at St. Mark's Hospital. She was appointed Secretary to the ICRF Histopathology Tumour Panel in 1996 and subsequently to the Northwick Park post in 1998. Her qualifications include BSc, MBBS, MRCPath, MD.
